Stye, Chalazion

Stye is an acute, inflammatory swelling of the eyelid that results from a small, painful abscess in the sebaceous glands of the eyelid. The stye may open and heal spontaneously.

Chalazion it is an obstruction of a Meibomian eyelid gland and results in the formation of the nodule-like inflammation of the gland. The chalazion is an adverse evolution of the stye. The chalazion is often mobile under the skin and sensitive to pressure. Unfortunately, it may happen that despite the treatment, the lesion persists and requires surgical intervention.
