There are many advantages to wearing contact lenses but remember that wearing contact lenses requires some effort from you.

Please find below a few instructions how to safely use contact lenses.

• Keep the schedule for wearing and replacing your lenses. Never overuse them. Daily use contact lenses are to be used for a day and monthly use for a month. You should never extend this period.
• Remember you can get a serious eye infection if you do not clean, disinfect and store your contact lenses correctly. Please take your time and take all possible care and measures to ensure hygiene and cleanliness when using contact lenses.
• Follow directions from the contact lens manufacturer, and from the lens cleaning solution manufacturer to clean and store your lenses. Never wear your contact lenses if they have been stored for a long period of time without re-disinfecting.
• Do not sleep or even nap in daily wear lenses. This may hurt your cornea and conjunctiva and even irreversibly destroy them.
• Avoid using any kind of eye drop – medication when wearing contacts. However, you can use preservative-free, lens friendly lubricating drops while wearing contact lenses.
• Remove your contact lenses and call your eye doctor right away if your eyes are: very red, painful, become sensitive to light or if your vision becomes blurry or if there is a discharge, pus coming from your eye. These can be symptoms of serious eye problems to not ignore them and concat your eye doctor as soon as possible.
• In order to make sure your lenses fit properly, and the prescription is still right for you, see your eye doctor regularly.

Please find below a few instructions how to safely clean and store your contact lenses to avoid problems.

• Wash your hands with soap and water (preferably a solid soap, no perfumes). Never use a hand disinfectant before hangliding contact lenses. Dry your hands with a lint-free towel before touching your contact lenses.
• Use a “rub and rinse” cleaning method no matter what type of lens cleaning solution you buy. Rub your contact lenses with clean fingers, then rinse the lenses with solution before soaking them. Remember that it is always suggested to rinse even a brand new contact lens with an adequate rinsing solution. In other words you should avoid putting the lens onto your eye directly from the box. This is because the new lens is stored and preserved in the manufactured box for some months or even years before you put it on your eye.
• Do not rinse or store contacts in water, saline solution or lubricating drops.
• Always use new solution each and every time you clean and disinfect your contact lenses. Never reuse the old solution from the contact lens case and keep the contact lens case clean after every use. Rinse it with sterile contact lens solution then leave the empty case open to dry.
• Keep the bottle of your rinsing solution tightly closed when you are not using it.
