Overview
What is ResurFX?
ResurFX treatment of the face and eye contour areas is a modern, minimally invasive method of skin rejuvenation, improving skin texture, and reducing wrinkles and scars, especially around the eyes. The treatment is individually tailored to each patient and achieves a natural improvement in appearance with a relatively short recovery time.
ResurFX is a non-ablative fractional laser that works deep into the skin without breaking the continuity of the epidermis. Laser energy creates a network of controlled heating micro-zones in the dermis that stimulate collagen production, improve skin density and elasticity to improve skin texture, reduce wrinkles, acne scars and pigment spots. Gentle and requiring little recovery time, it generally requires 3 to 4 sessions for optimal results. CoolScan technology ensures even energy delivery.
The ResurFX laser can be used on the entire face, including the delicate areas around the eyes (crow's feet wrinkles, fine lines under the eyes), as well as the cheeks, forehead, and around the mouth. It helps reduce fine to moderate wrinkles, uneven skin texture, enlarged pores, certain pigment spots due to the sun as well as superficial scars, especially acne scars.
Procedure
How does a session work?
Before the session, the doctor conducts a medical interview, examines the skin, explains the treatment plan and determines the number of sessions (often a series of several treatments spaced a few weeks apart). A numbing cream may be applied, and then the doctor passes the laser handpiece over the chosen areas of the face and eye area. The eyes are specially protected with dedicated shields throughout the procedure. The session usually lasts a few dozen minutes.
During the session, the patient may experience a sensation of warmth, slight tingling or moderate burning, but most people describe the treatment as generally well tolerated. After the treatment, the skin is red, slightly swollen, like after a mild sunburn, and then it usually calms down within a few days.

Expected results
The first effects – brighter skin, smoother surface – can appear after a few weeks, while the full result develops gradually over several months thanks to the new collagen synthesis. In the eye area, the treatment can reduce wrinkles, improve skin tone and give the look a more rested and rejuvenated appearance.

Safety
Safety and adverse effects
ResurFX is considered a safe method, including around the eyes, as long as proper eye protection is used and medical protocols are strictly adhered to. The most common side effects are transient: redness, edema, feeling of heat, sometimes itching, dryness or slight peeling. More rarely, pigmentation disorders or infection can occur, especially in the case of inappropriate care.
Main contraindications include:
- recent tanning,
- active skin infections (e.g. herpes),
- certain serious general diseases,
- tendency to keloid scars,
- certain dermatoses on the area to be treated.
In people taking photosensitizing drugs, in pregnant or breastfeeding women, the decision to treat is made individually after medical evaluation. If in doubt, always ask your doctor for individual advice.

After Treatment
Post-session recommendations
After the treatment, gentle skin hygiene and rigorous photoprotection are essential. Daily application of a broad spectrum sun protection SPF 50+ and moisturising creams or mineral water spray for the face containing aloe vera extract, and avoiding the sun and UV booths for several weeks.
During the first 12–14 days, it is advisable to avoid:
- hot baths and saunas,
- strenuous physical exertion,
- irritating cosmetics or exfoliating products,
- sun and UV booths.
